Balmori

Experiment!

My creative work goes beyond projects for brands and strategic marketing. I also draw inspiration from my passions, like music, literature, art, video games, and technology.

Here, you’ll find some projects that let me express and explore these other facets.

Balmori/MOU.

INFO

This book is about mourning, orphanhood, and healing through dreams. I wrote it to cope with my parents' deaths. The stories came from my dreams, which I wrote down every morning in a notebook by my bedside. Once I had enough stories, I commissioned trans artist Valis Ortiz (former MOU) to create a series of illustrations based on these stories.

INFO

Mexico in the 1990s: underground literature was experiencing a unique effervescence. With the ashes of movements like “La Onda” still in the air, a new generation of young writers, many teenagers, was emerging in the corners of Mexico City. With no Internet or spaces of their own, Editorial Moho was born in that context.

My two books, published with Moho, are a tribute to vibrant Mexico, full of contrasts. They are a journey through absurd and funny situations, possible only in the biggest—and probably the most exciting—city in the world.

RETRO GAMING REIMAGINED.

TUXTEPECAN HARDWARE.

INFO

At Tuxtepecan Hardware©, our mission is to revive that physical connection with the hardware, while keeping its functionality intact. We are inspired by the union between art and hardware, so we collaborate with artists and illustrators, such as Abrahám Díaz, to design new unique cartridges. In addition, we implemented high-performance arcade joysticks to deliver an unsurpassed gaming experience.

With the support of our partner Herz, a leading figure in Mexico’s retro gaming community, we developed innovative solutions for the simulation of classic video games. We were pioneers in introducing in the country the revolutionary MiSTer FPGA, recognized as the most accurate experience to emulate classic hardware.

At Tuxtepecan Hardware©, we continue to evolve to ensure that the legacy of retro gaming lives on, combining tradition, art, and technology for future generations.
